Consumer Protection & Debt Defense

Understanding your options when debt becomes overwhelming

Debt collection lawsuits and consumer issues can feel stressful and confusing — especially when you’re unsure of your rights. Community Legal provides free assistance for eligible individuals who are being sued by a creditor, helping them understand their options and next steps.

SERVICES WE PROVIDE

How We Can Help

Consumer Protection

Community Legal offers free assistance to help individuals understand their rights when dealing with unfair or deceptive practices by creditors or debt collectors. A Community Legal attorney can review notices, demand letters, and court filings to help explain what they mean and what steps may be necessary.

In some cases, Community Legal may provide legal coaching and document review to help you respond appropriately and protect your rights.

Debt Defense

Community Legal offers free assistance for individuals who are being sued by a creditor over a debt. A Community Legal attorney can explain the lawsuit process, important deadlines, and available options for responding.

While Community Legal does not represent clients in court for debt defense matters, we may offer guidance and document review to help individuals prepare responses and better understand their case.
